It’s here! Żabbar Street Festival returns this weekend with iconic umbrella display
Get your cameras ready and your weekend plans sorted, because the Żabbar Street Festival is back and taking over the village with two full days of fun, colour, and community spirit!
Happening this Saturday 31st May and Sunday 1st June, the festival will once again transform Żabbar into an explosion of colour, with the town’s iconic umbrella display providing the perfect Insta-worthy backdrop.
Whether you’re going for the food, fun, or photos, once you’re there you’re sure to find something fun to do. Auto enthusiasts will be excited to see the car show, while the competitive spirits can enjoy tournaments of darts and billiards or even join the sports day!
Feel like relaxing? Wander around the artisan stalls or enter BBQ & beer garden for that street fest vibe while the little ones enjoy the bouncy castle. If you’re worried about missing the big game, rest assured – the Champions League Final will be shown live on the big screen at Misraħ is-Sliem.
And of course, save some time to take photos of the beloved umbrella installation – a burst of colour overhead that has become one of Żabbar’s most recognised attractions.
Żabbar’s love affair with umbrellas isn’t new – the town famously holds the record for Malta’s largest umbrella, a staple of the Madonna tal-Grazzja feast celebrated annually, the first Sunday after 8th September.
So whether you're from the South or just visiting, this weekend is the perfect time to experience Żabbar at its most festive.
Have you ever seen the umbrella street?
