In today’s press briefing, Malta’s Superintendent of Public Health Prof. Charmaine Gauci shared a map pinpointing the island’s coronavirus cases by region.

cases by location

Speaking of the map, Prof. Gauchi highlights the fact that these are the localities where the persons who contracted the virus live, warning that “it doesn’t mean that the person contracted the virus there. The virus could have been contracted at the workplace, or other places the person went.”

The majority of the cases were registered by people living in the northern harbour area, which registered 142 cases out of Malta’s total of 402.

The lowest registered numbers were in Gozo and Comino.
