Onwards and upwards! Malta's Francesca Curmi makes it to semi-finals at W50 Nantes Tournament

Francesca Curmi is making waves on the international tennis scene once again! The talented Maltese player has reached the semi-finals of the prestigious W50 Nantes Tournament 2025, showing the world her skills with an outstanding performance. In an exciting quarter-final clash, Curmi defeated Anna-Lena Friedsam, currently ranked WTA 353, and a former WTA 45, in a ranking system used to determine the relative skill levels of female tennis players.

The W50 Nantes Tournament 2025, also known as the Engie Open Nantes Atlantique, is an important event in the professional women’s tennis circuit, that started on 31st March and will end this Sunday, 6th April, in the city of Nantes in France. This event sees the world’s top players competing for vital ranking points and prize money, and Francesca's rise to the semi-finals has certainly grabbed attention!

Now, Francesca is set for an exciting semi-final match against Sofia Costoulas, currently ranked WTA 269, taking place today at 4 PM. The match will be streamed live, so tune in to catch all the action here.
