British Airlines have added 35 new destinations to their flight roster.
Your trip to the UK has just gotten easier...
Malta’s Tourism Authority has just announced that British Airways will be starting direct flights to Gatwick from Malta as from March.
This comes as part of the airline’s new short flight schedule, as Malta becomes one of 35 new destinations included in British Airways’ new flight roster.
This schedule is set to start operating from Gatwick by the end of March 2022 with three aircrafts, although the number is expected to increase to 18 by the end of May.
Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo explained that "with more flights to the Maltese Islands, especially from one of our main markets, the United Kingdom, [the new flight roster] will be another booster for Malta's tourism prospects in 2022."
Malta Tourism Authority Deputy Chief Executive Leslie Vella stressed that these new routes will help Malta overcome the short and long term recovery of the tourism industry post-pandemic.
