Malta’s traditional Freedom Day regatta may have been disrupted by yesterday’s bad weather, but it’s not over yet.
The Grand Harbour regatta is still on, but it will now take place on Sunday 12th April, a week after Easter Sunday.
While some races did take place yesterday, Force 6 winds made it impossible to continue and organisers took the decision to postpone it by a few weeks.

The Maltese boat race has been taking place locally since at least 1822 and is typically held twice a year - on Freedom Day and Victory Day.
Teams from several coastal towns around Malta participate and compete, with Vittoriosa the current Freedom Day champions.
