‘No patients with COVID-19 are currently in Intensive Care’, authorities confirm

A statement from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Malta’s Health Ministry has affirmed that at present, no patient with COVID-19 are in Intensive Care.

Appealing for responsibility at this difficult time, the statement condemned speculation into the number of COVID-19 cases reported by the authorities, and ‘fake news’ which can cause unnecessary alarm among the public.

Going on to thank all healthcare workers who are doing all they can in the fight against the spread of COVID-19, the statement affirms that a record number of swab tests were performed within the last 24 hours, resulting in 49 positive cases.
