New direct bus route from Malta’s airport to Bugibba has just been announced
Airport transfers will be a breeze!

Travelling from the north of Malta to the airport just got a whole lot easier thanks to a newly announced Tallinja bus route. Expats and northern citizens will be happy to know that the Tallinja Direct line number 3 (TD3) has started operating this week. The TD3 runs from the airport up to the seaside town of Bugibba.

Tallinja also announced that the current routes TD13 from Valletta to St Julian’s and TD9 from Valletta to Bugibba have been merged into one route: the new TD13 from Valletta to Bugibba via St Julian’s, running every 20 minutes. And if I may, it's quite a decent time, compared to other less popular routes that run on the hour.

It was also reported that route TD17 from the Pembroke Park & Ride to University now also caters Mater Dei Hospital.

IMPORTANT! Fares for the direct routes are €3 if paying cash on board, €2.50 if paying with a 12-Journey Card, or €1.50 if paying with a personalised Tallinja Card.

TIP! Tallinja Direct (TD) routes don’t stop on every bus stop. You’ll have to look out for the coloured strip on the bus stop sign that indicates it is a TD stop. Otherwise, you could be waiting a while!
