Heads up, drivers! TM Roads has just been announced – a new digital platform designed to deliver more effective coordination, greater transparency, and increased efficiency in the administrative process related to road and infrastructure works.

Up until now, applying for infrastructure-related interventions involved a bureaucratic and often complex process that could hinder communication and cooperation between relevant entities. TM Roads aims to change that, bringing all key stakeholders together under one digital roof to ensure better planning, clearer communication, and less disruption to the public.

The platform will serve not only as a centralised hub for authorities and contractors but will also allow the public to be kept informed about upcoming works, including permits and communications between agencies. This enhanced coordination is expected to reduce the inconvenience often experienced by residents during ongoing projects.

TM Roads is being developed in collaboration with the Transport Research Laboratory – a UK-based company with a global track record in infrastructure innovation. Their expertise is expected to help foster a much-needed shift in how Malta views and manages mobility.

Residents will soon be able to register and receive notifications about planned roadworks near their homes or workplaces, allowing for better day-to-day planning and fewer unpleasant surprises on the road.
