Entry's free too!

A brand-new museum dedicated to British Royal history - called The Crown Heritage Foundation and Museum - will be opening its doors in Żurrieq this March, offering visitors a unique chronological journey through more than a century of monarchy.

The collection spans from the reign of Queen Victoria to that of King Charles III, guiding visitors through the Victorian and Edwardian eras, the two World Wars, the post-war years, and the modern reigns of Elizabeth II and King Charles III.

The museum is thoughtfully arranged as a historical timeline, told through authentic memorabilia and commemorative pieces. Displays include coronation items, royal wedding souvenirs, Jubilee memorabilia and collectibles and rare artefacts that are increasingly difficult to source today.

Each section features clear, accessible labels, ensuring that even visitors without an in-depth knowledge of royal history can fully appreciate the context and significance of the pieces on display.

The museum will be officially inaugurated on Friday 20th March. Following the inauguration, it will open to the public at the following times:

  • Tuesday: 5:00pm – 7:00pm
  • Friday: 10:00am – 1:00pm & 5:00pm – 7:00pm
  • Saturday: 10:00am – 1:00pm
  • Other times & group visits: By appointment

The collection is curated by Jerome Farrugia, a Maltese royalist and lifelong collector of British Royal memorabilia. Over the years, he has carefully sourced, preserved, and catalogued items that reflect the ceremonies, traditions, and personal milestones of the Royal Family.

His aim is to make this heritage accessible in Malta through a warm and respectful museum experience that welcomes enthusiasts, researchers, and curious visitors alike.

The collection is also constantly evolving, with new donations and acquisitions regularly added, meaning each visit may offer something new.

While entrance to the museum will be free, visitors are invited to support in whichever way they can, be it a financial donation, or even a donation of British royal memorabilia to be added to the collection.

Looking forward to visiting?
