You've heard of snakes on a plane, but how about a snake in a car?
The Xrobb l-Ghagin Nature Park and Wildlife Rehab Centre have shared the good news of having managed to save a snake from the interior of a car, after the owner became aware of its presence and contacted Nature Trust Malta.
After having to dismantle part of the car in order to free the snake, the volunteer discovered a Western Whip Snake trapped on the passenger side of the car. He managed to extract the snake safely, which has happily been released back into the wild. The snake was named James, after the volunteer who saved his life!
Remember that the four snakes native to our islands are not poisonous, and are protected by law.
