As the seasons transition, Majjistral Park’s Facebook page shines the spotlight on a beautiful display of flora waiting to be discovered.

Amidst the rugged terrain, keen observers can find the elusive Fagonia, a rare plant exclusive to the northwestern coast of Malta, flourishing in select pockets of the park. Its delicate blossoms beautify the landscape from autumn through spring, adding a touch of elegance to the rugged scenery.

If you keep on looking, you might encounter the Sand Crocus, its tiny violet flowers peeking through the earth, especially noticeable from January to March. Despite their diminutive size, these blooms add splashes of colour to the park's paths, inviting admiration from anyone who catches a glimpse of them.

Amidst the shrubbery, the endemic Maltese Spurge proudly displays its aromatic flowers, later transforming into vibrant yellow shrubs, a reminder to the park's biodiversity.

Meanwhile, the robust Wolfbane stands tall, its brownish-purplish flowers attracting a flurry of insects year-round. With fruits resembling horns and seeds dispersed by silky tufts, this shrub epitomises nature's ingenuity.

The Majjistral Park emphasises that visitors are urged to tread carefully along the park's paths, embracing the beauty of these floral wonders while respecting the delicate balance of nature.

Have you ever seen any of these beautiful examples of flora?
