Maltese musical theatre performer David Coppini has been cast in the ensemble of the Phantom of the Opera on its upcoming European tour.

David has been performing professionally in Malta since his early teens and is an awardee of the Malta Arts Scholarship, a scholar of the BOV Joseph Calleja Foundation and a recipient of a Janatha Stubbs Foundation bursary.

He moved to the UK to study at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and while there also got to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

He has a passion for dance and choreography, especially contemporary and tap dance, and also plays the flute and alto saxophone.

BBA Management, a talent agency which represents David, said they are thrilled that the Maltese star has joined the Phantom ensemble.

“This iconic production continues to captivate audiences around the world, and we couldn’t be more excited to see David be part of it,” it said.

“Huge congratulations — we can’t wait to see him on stage.”

Congrats David!
