More easing of restrictions to be announced ‘in the coming days’ – Chris Fearne
Certain sectors will reopen come Monday.

The government is expected to announce more relaxation of measures “in the coming days” Health Minister Chris Fearne said today.

The news came during a press conference held at Mount Carmel as a new ward will be opened tomorrow. Although no details were revealed of the country’s next phase of reopening, Fearne shared that additional easing of restrictions will be communicated soon.

"The number [of new cases] has remained low and so, as things stand, we will be reopening certain sectors as planned on Monday. Then, in the coming days, we will announce more easing of measures," Fearne said. 

As from Monday 10th May, restaurants are permitted to operate until 5pm (after which they will need to revert back to take-away or delivery options only). Travel to Gozo will not be restricted will it is assumed that bars and clubs will remain closed.
