Monday 10th August: Malta detects 23 new cases of COVID-19, as 4 more recover
Authorities have released the official figures.

According to the figures published by the Health Authority’s Facebook page, Sahha, Malta has registered 23 new cases of COVID-19 after 1,618 swabs were done in the past 24 hours.

The post also noted that, “Today's cases include 1 imported cases, 2 cases tracing back to the Paceville cluster, while the rest are being contacted by the contact tracing team.”

The islands have registered four more recoveries, bringing the total recovery tally to 688 and the number of active cases to 415. Since the outbreak, Malta has recorded 1,112 cases and has performed 143,385 swab tests. In light of these numbers, health authorities are recommending that "people avoid crowded areas."
