Many people across Malta and Gozo have welcomed a number of stray cats into their own homes but none are quite like Anna Vella who has taken the responsibility to take care of a total of 170 cats.

As you can imagine such a heroic deed brings with it a lot of expenses which is why Anna has started to make use of the BCRS plastic bottle system to help raise funds for all her cats.

“The food has gotten a lot more expensive and during covid I struggled a lot however I still kept my cats under a roof”, Anna expressed to GuidemeMalta.com.

“I have been doing this initiative since November, when the BCRS system was first introduced. I then received tips from other people and decided to expand my project to also gain money from Royal Canin, Kwiksave, Nestle and Lava Points”, she continued.

Thanks to such schemes, Anna has managed to continue gaining all the necessary funds.

When asked what here most memorable moment was, she revealed it was when she was about to lose the roof over her head. She opened up to the Maltese public for help about her situation and help soon came flooding in.

“I couldn't keep 170 cats and not have the food to feed them and the medicine to curate them with. It doesn't make sense and it's cruel. About 15 minutes after putting up my post a lot of people messaged me and some others also went around town looking for material”.

“I'll never stop thanking the golden hearts of the Maltese”.

If you wish to help Anna, you can do so by giving her any plastic/glass bottles, wrappings of Nestle Kwiksave or Royal Canin material that you were about to throw away.

“Instead of throwing away this material we'll be doing something good for the environment and a lot of abandoned animals will also benefit from such a plan”.

Well done on all your efforts Anna!
