Manchester Airport will be re-closing Terminal 2 as from next week, affecting Air Malta flights
Manchester Airport will once again be closing its Terminal 2 starting next week after reportedly not seeing a sufficient return to passenger numbers.
“As of 2nd September, flights scheduled to depart from Terminal 2 will instead be departing from Terminal 1,” Manchester Airport’s website reads. “Flights prior to the 2nd of September will continue to depart from Terminal 1. Terminals 1&3 are open as usual.”
“Please be aware that some airlines may still be operating from a different terminal than they originally flew from. Please check with your airline before flying,” they urge travellers.
Their information section notes that the airlines currently flying from Terminal 2 at TUI, Qatar Airways, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings, Ethiopian Airlines, Air Malta, Etihad Airways, and Iran Air.
“Having re-opened Terminals Two and Three in July, we have continued to monitor the travel patterns of our airlines and passengers, in order to adapt our operations accordingly. With that in mind, we have taken the decision to close Terminal Two again from September 2″, said Karen Smart, Manchester Airport’s managing director, in statement according to Business Traveller.
