Maltese writer’s first children’s book ranks in top spot on Amazon’s New Releases
Well done!

Jillian Mallia

Massive congratulations are in order for Luisa Abela who not only published her first children’s book but it’s ranking as Amazon’s number 1 in New Releases. YAS! ‘I Wish I Was A Monster’, which you can find here, is written with “endearing text and bold expressive illustrations.”

About the book

“This is a book about a young boy who wishes his wish would come true,” the book’s description on Amazon reads. “He has an exciting and adventurous imagination and wishes that he can become a monster to do all the cool things that monsters do. He would be a friendly monster, showing all his friends that monsters are just like you and me.”

About the author’s journey

In a recent interview with Gadgets, Luisa shared that her friend approached her to write a children’s book that would be published on Amazon. “I was totally caught by surprise, mostly because I’ve never written a children’s book or any book before and didn’t really know what to expect.” But Luisa went for it and totes slayed!

Luisa also revealed that it’s a three-part series and the next two books will be called ‘I Wish I Was An Alien’ and ‘I Wish I Was A Mermaid.’ It seems that Amazon will be the publisher of these two books, too.

The book is perfect for kids aged three to five years. Need to give a gift to a kid you know? Why not support local and buy Luisa’s book, which will be released on 26th April! Congrats Luisa!
