Maltese gaming programmer, Ryan Portelli has made Malta proud after winning a prestigious award at the NYX Game Awards in New York.

He was nominated and took home a Gold Award in the PC Game - Horror category for one of the many games he has created.

Dreams coming true after lots of hard work and determination in silence”, Ryan expressed.

“Representing our tiny island MALTA, against the big giants! Thank you so so much!”, the talented programmer continued.

Ryan is mostly known for creating the PS5 horror game known as ‘Trenches’. The game centres around a soldier trying to get back from the trenches of World War I yet a mysterious figure is chasing him around preventing him from doing so.

Well done, Ryan!
