Malta has just enjoyed a moment in the international spotlight, featured in a recent episode of ‘World Theme Travel’, one of South Korea’s most popular and long-running travel documentary series.

Produced by EBS – South Korea’s national educational broadcaster – ‘World Theme Travel’ has been captivating viewers since 2008. The programme stands out by taking a more soulful, backpack-style approach to travel, going beyond postcard landmarks to highlight real experiences, local lifestyles, and lesser-known gems.

Filmed on location in April, the Malta episode explored Valletta, Gozo, and several other stunning corners of the islands. Viewers were treated to a vibrant and thoughtful journey through Malta’s rich history, cultural traditions, breathtaking landscapes, and contemporary island life – all narrated from the perspective of a Korean traveller.

This kind of international spotlight helps introduce Malta to new corners of the world. With Korean viewers getting a taste of our islands’ charm, who knows — we might just be seeing more curious travellers adding Malta to their bucket list!

Have you ever met any South Korean travellers in Malta?
