The fish are biting after the storm!

While Storm Harry left its marks of destruction across the Maltese Islands, it also brought with it an unexpected silver lining: plenty of fish.

Local photographer Viktor Vella captured a charming snapshot of post-storm life along the coast in Mellieħa, where scores of people were spotted lining the shore, rods in hand, patiently waiting for that all-important tug on the line.

The rough seas appear to have stirred up an impressive catch, sending fishing enthusiasts into a frenzy. From seasoned anglers to families and even children joining in, the coastline quickly transformed into a communal fishing spot.

One thing’s certain: with scenes like these, fish will be firmly on the menu across Malta for the days to come.
