Malta’s favourite sister duo just made it big in Scotland & now they need your help!
They’re going places.
Malta’s singing sister duo Bettina and Philippa, or more widely known as The New Victorians, are making a name for themselves and our little rock overseas.
If you haven’t had the pleasure of listening to The New Victorians, let me break it down for you. The song-writing duo fuse their classical music foundation with their love for technology, creating an Electronic Indie sound most notable for its haunting harmonies and clever lyrics. They’ve also released various songs that are the absolute JAM, and won a local Artist of the Year award just last week!
The New Victorians also made their theatrical debut working with an all-female cast to put up MARA, a performance celebrating women through time. They recently took their performance to the Vault Festival in London, which was a huge hit, but now they’ve got even more exciting news!
“We can’t believe we’re saying this but… we’ve been offered a place on the Pleasance Programme this August at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with our show MARA!” they wrote on Facebook.
But, they need your help! They will be the first all-female Maltese company to ever take a show up for the full month, and they’ve started a crowdfunding page to cover the cost of travel, accommodation and daily living for the whole cast. Any little bit helps their artistic journey. Head to their page to help out!
