Malta's Comedy Knights announce a break after 12 years of laughter – but promise, ‘it’s just the interval!’
Malta’s funniest crew are pressing pause after over a decade of laughs.

After more than a decade of delivering side-splitting sketches, Malta’s beloved comedy troupe, The Comedy Knights, have announced that they’ll be taking a short break from their annual Christmas shows.
In a very on-brand post shared to social media, the group thanked audiences for 12 years of support, laughter, and endless energy, reassuring fans that this isn’t the end – just a well-earned intermission.
Their message began with: ‘GOODBYE FOR NOW… NOT FOREVER! Well, folks… after 12 hysterical years, countless wigs, dodgy accents, and enough fake beards to carpet the Sliema promenade, The Comedy Knights are taking a little break.’
They went on to thank their loyal audiences – from die-hard fans who’ve attended every show, to those who accidentally wandered in expecting a panto – for helping make them Malta’s longest-running Christmas comedy show, aside from the panto (and, as they cheekily note, ‘with fewer fairies’).
With their signature mix of wit and Maltese charm, The Comedy Knights wrapped up their announcement by assuring everyone that they’ll be back, wigs, accents, and all:
‘So this isn’t goodbye – it’s just us popping out for a quick ħobża u ġobon break. We’ll be back with new jokes, new sketches, and probably the same wigs.’
Until then, fans can hold on to the many laughs and quotable moments the group has brought to the stage over the years, and start counting down the days until the curtain rises again.
