Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries, and Animal Rights Anton Refalo has just revealed that a grant of €116,487 will be shared among 16 animal sanctuaries around the islands.

The grant’s goal is to improve the protection of animals – especially those that have been abandoned and have nowhere else to go.

“The aim of this initiative is to support these organisations and help them carry out projects that can provide a good life for animals,” Minister Refalo said.

“We need to keep working closely with these organisations,” Parliamentary Secretary for Fisheries, Aquaculture, and Animal Welfare Alicia Bugeja Said said.

It is no secret that animal sanctuaries across the islands face financial struggles, given the incredible amount of work that they undertake.
