The 2017 winners, the top performers in ratings collected from departing passengers in 343 airports worldwide, were announced yesterday and the award aims to recognise the world’s best airports in terms of customer experience. Oh and last year, MIA's overall passenger satisfaction score was also its highest to date!

With the newly unveiled La Valette lounge, a new mezzanine level and the relocation and extension of its security area, MIA has shown it has the goods to compete with the very best in the business.

MIA has consistently placed well in the awards over the past nine years, always hitting the top five. This year’s score has moved the airport’s rank up a place from last year, and it is now tied with Moscow Sheremetyevo and Porto. The Russian airport Sochi, which welcomes over five million passengers per year, claimed the top spot.
