The Spinola Bay junction has been receiving some much-needed TLC over the past few weeks as a complete revamp of the area is being undertaken to reduce unnecessary travel time delays and also (hopefully) reduce accidents due to unsafe road crossings.

Underground utility networks are being upgraded, as well as improvements to the area’s storm water system. Existing parking spaces and bus laybys will also be reorganised for safer access for pedestrians.

Attention drivers! Here’s what you need to know

The roadworks are scheduled to be completed next week when the junction will be off limits during the night to lay the topmost asphalt layer. Parts of the junction will be closed this week between 7am and 6pm in order for workers to remove the old asphalt surface that’s on its last legs and will be replaced with new foundation and asphalt layers. Total makeover incoming!
