It was announced last year that Malta was selected as one of the main filming locations for the thriller ‘The Silent Hour’. Filming is now underway, and the production service company Valletta Pictures has shared some images of Malta doubling as Boston, with stunning shots of Birzebbuga’s Freeport as a backdrop to the action.

The film tells the story of a Boston detective returning to duty after an injury leaves him with permanent hearing loss. When interpreting for a deaf witness to a brutal gang murder, he finds himself in a life-threatening conflict against a team of corrupt policemen.

The film stars the Swedish actor Joel Kinnaman from ‘Suicide Squad’, Mark Strong who is known for his role in ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’, and Meki Phifer from ‘8 Mile’.

Release is planned for October of this year, so you might want to plan a trip to the cinema to check out which other local scenes will be featured in this much-awaited thriller.
