With local clean up initiatives and campaigns like #waveofchange picking up steam on the islands, it would seem that people are becoming ever more aware of the impact their trash can have on the environment (yay!) And with beautiful islands like these, why wouldn’t we want to protect them?

This is exactly what local food vendor Ann’s Van has in mind, offering a FREE cup of coffee to anyone who brings in a bucket of roadside trash. And, having launched the initiative some months ago, it’s now earning the eco-conscious Ann international recognition, featuring on a recent BuzzFeed article dubbing her free coffee sign as one of ‘16 Pictures Of Things That Are Saving The Planet As We Speak’!

“10 years of growing organic vegetables and living an isolated life in the Belgian countryside helped change my attitude towards food production and the way I approached cooking in general, making me aware of how much we take simple things for granted and how under-appreciated farmers are in this day and age,” says the food vendor’s facebook page, which led to her concept to show people how to eat healthier, tastier food using familiar ingredients, while being respectful towards food production methods and the planet in general – and we love her for it!
