We may only be in the second month of 2020, but it already seems to be one for the books for one talented local fashion designer.

Saz Mifsud recently took her brand to America’s biggest fashion tradeshow with the aim of expanding her reach to international clientele: “The Coterie Trade show is a business to business event connecting designers with buyers and retailers,” she explains. Held between 11th and 13th February, the show targets New York’s international fashion community, which hosts designers and buyers from all over the world.

Preparations leading up to The Coterie Trade show have been in effect since her participation at the previous NYC tradeshow in September: “I reviewed my product range and changed small details to make certain products easier to retail,” Saz says, explaining that one such alteration included the replacement of the beaded strap from their leather bag with a detachable leather strap, thus making it more versatile and increasing the chances of having a retailer place an order.

For February’s tradeshow, Saz carefully curated the selection with a purpose in mind: “We exhibited a selection of designs for each product type - again choosing designs we believed would suit the American market better,” she explains. And her efforts have paid off: “we are so pleased to announce that our products will be available in a selection of stores in NYC in the coming weeks!” says a glowing Saz.

Such great feats could not have been done without a hardworking team, and Saz extends her gratitude to all those supporting her latest venture: “The only way I could do this was by having a loyal team helping me each step of the way. Knowing that my brand would be in good hands here in Malta, I could travel across the Atlantic to launch the collection there," she concludes.
