Lights out! Valletta and Swieqi amongst localities to experience power cuts THIS WEEK

Just as we need a re-set and a good check-up every now and again, so does the island's power grid.   

Fortunately, Enemalta, our local electricity provider, has published a list of localities that will be undergoing some planned maintenance works over the weekend. This way, you too can plan ahead.  

These maintenance works are carried out regularly to ensure that the national electricity grid operates safely.     

Only select streets from the following localities will be affected.     

Here's the full list of affected areas:     

Wednesday 2nd March:   

  • Hamrun from 5:15am to 7am   
  • Rabat from 8am to 2pm   
  • Mdina from 8am to 12pm   
  • Marsaskala from 8am to 12pm   
  • Pieta from 8am to 1pm   
  • Valletta from 4:30am to 7:30am   
  • Mgarr from 8am to 12pm   

Thursday 3rd March:   

  • Zurrieq from 7am to 6pm   
  • Siggiewi from 8am to 2pm   
  • Birkirkara from 8am to 1pm   
  • Munxar from 8:30 to 2:30pm   
  • Valletta from 10pm to 5am   
  • Gzira from 9am to 4pm   
  • Zurrieq from 8am to 1pm   
  • Rabat from 8am to 12pm   
  • Zejtun from 8am to 12:15pm   
  • Zabbar from 7:30am to 12:30pm   

Friday 4th March:   

  • Zurrieq from 8am to 6pm   
  • Qala from 8:30am to 2:30pm   
  • Xghajra from 7:30am to 1pm   
  • Qormi from 8am to 2pm
