Il Pirata has announced the closure of its Valletta restaurant, bringing an end to one chapter while preparing to begin another with the reopening of its St Julian’s outlet later this month.

In a heartfelt message shared with customers, the restaurant thanked everyone who supported the Valletta location over the years.

‘Il Pirata Valletta is now closed. We would like to sincerely thank all our guests for your support, loyalty, and the wonderful memories we've shared over the years,’ the statement read.

However, the popular restaurant chain also revealed that it will soon be welcoming diners back to St Julian’s, signalling a fresh start for the brand.

The announcement comes alongside a teaser posted on the Il Pirata St Julian’s Facebook page, hinting at the long-awaited return of the outlet, which has remained closed since April 2021.

‘Stay tuned... A new chapter begins! We're bringing your memories back while creating new ones together. The story continues, and we can't wait to welcome you,’ the post said.

The reopening is likely to be welcomed by many loyal customers who frequented the St Julian’s restaurant before its closure more than four years ago.

Despite the closure of the Valletta establishment, Il Pirata continues to operate two other restaurants in Malta. Diners can still visit the restaurant's popular locations at Mellieħa Bay and along the Senglea Waterfront, both of which remain open.

With the St Julian’s reopening now just weeks away, the restaurant appears to be turning the page on a new chapter, aiming to reconnect with long-time patrons while creating fresh memories in one of Malta's busiest seaside destinations.

Are you sad to see the Valletta outlet go?
