It’s a glorious day on the Maltese Islands – so far, at least. And with New Year’s Eve fast approaching, we can’t help but wonder what Mother Nature has got in store to end this crazy year. Here’s what the weather will be like as we wave goodbye to 2020.

Well, it’s lots of sunshine for the islanders today with temperatures reaching highs of 18⁰C and chilly lows of 10⁰C. You might feel a little colder than usual as the Southwest Force 4-5 winds will become West-Northwest Force 5-6 winds.

Now for New Year’s Eve: it’s seems like Mother Nature is not done with meddling with our already wack 2020, but don’t worry it’s nothing too nuts. Possible showers are expected tomorrow with temperatures reaching highs of 16⁰C and lows of 10⁰C. So as you ring in the new year with your nearest and dearest, you might want to wrap up tight. Good news, though! The West-Northwest Force 5-6 winds will calm down a little to Force 3-4.

While you’re here, this is the forecast for the start of the year to help you plan your weekend a little better. New Year’s Day is expecting to be partly cloudy with highs of 16⁰C, lows of 10⁰C, Southwest Force 2-3 winds that become South winds Force 3-4.

As for the last weekend before we head back to school and work? Saturday is meant to be a mainly sunny day with highs of 17⁰C and lows of 10⁰C with Force 4-5 Southwest winds. On Sunday, isolated showers are predicted with temperatures reaching 15⁰C (feels like 14⁰C) and lows of 10⁰C, along with Southwest Force 4-5 winds that will become Force 5-6.

Happy New Year, everyone! Stay safe!
