The immensely inspiring Jake Vella is currently in hospital ‘fighting a battle of his own’.

Jake Vella was diagnosed with a rare condition by the name of rapid-onset obesity with hypothalamic dysregulation, hypoventilation and autonomic dysregulation (ROHHAD).

Despite leading a healthy lifestyle and exercising daily, this means that Jake still gains weight as a result of this rare condition.

However, Jake hasn’t let this stop him and continues to work hard whilst inspiring thousands of Maltese people with his determination in the process.

“In these tough times, it would be good for us to all keep him in our thoughts”, the Bulletproof fitness community wrote on social media.

“To my hero Jake Vella, you are so much in my thoughts and prayers right now dude. Sending much love”, presenter Trudy Kerr added.

“We ask all the MYTA family & community to spare a thought for Jake Vella… We love you Jake!”, the Malta Youth Triathlon Academy, of which Jake is part of, continued.
