Maltese tattoo artist Tito Tanti, known for his mash-up creations of (sur)realism and anime-inspired designs, is taking his craft across Europe after 15 years in the tattoo industry.

Based in Malta, Tito runs two studios – Tito Tatts and Just Because Us – which he opened with his partner Angelica Rossi.

The pair recently set off on a tattoo-focused road trip through Europe, spanning across Italy, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, and France. Along the way, they’ve been stopping at tattoo conventions and guest spots in studios across the continent.

One of those stops has brought major success. At the Rotterdam Tattoo Convention, which took place in Rotterdam over last weekend (7th–8th March), Tito took home first place in the (sur)realism colour category, earning a gold medal among artists from around the world.

Sharing the moment on social media, Tanti expressed his excitement and gratitude:

‘A huge thank you to my client for trusting me and for wearing this piece with pride,’ he wrote. ‘I’d also like to thank the Rotterdam Tattoo Convention for the great event and the judges for appreciating my work. It’s always an honour to be surrounded by so many incredible artists from all over the world. Moments like this remind me why I love what I do.’

Well done Tito!
