Yesterday, Michelle Curmi’s family said goodbye to their loved one. In an emotional interview with NetNews, Michelle’s family share her life, saying that she was a lovely person and ready to help.

“I don’t know how we’re going to live without her,” her mother, Doris, says, also referring to Michelle’s father Louis and her boyfriend James. Michelle was grievously injured in a traffic accident in Zebbug and after 11 days on life support, it was switched off after she was declared brain-dead.

“I’m nothing without her, I cannot live without her,” Doris says with tears in her eyes. She also remembers the very last words her daughter uttered: “Ma.”

In the interview, her family noted that her love for motorbikes started from a very young ages since her father and siblings were bike-lovers. And this only grew when she met her partner, James. “I never had a girlfriend like her and I don’t think I’ll ever find someone like her,” he said. “We had a future, and that future is gone.”

In an emotion post on Facebook, James wrote a tribute to his partner. “I will never forget you and you will remain forever in my heart,” he says captioning a photo of the both of them. “When your life was gone, you took half of me with you,” he shares. “But I know that I have a beautiful angel looking over me every day.”

Yesterday, her funeral was held, and a number of bikers drove behind the hearse from the mortuary to the church in her honour.
