Heads up! Easter weekend weather in Malta looks calmer & dust-free, but blood rain and force 7 winds return on Monday
Enjoy the break of pleasant weather and clear skies!

‘Temp tal-Ġimgħa l-Kbira’ is the type of weather traditionally used to describe the dull, grey skies that often characterise Good Friday – but Malta’s been having that kind of weather all week so far! Luckily, today saw an improvement with the strong winds calming and yesterday’s sweltering humidity taking a dip, and it should remain that way over the weekend – fingers crossed!

Although it’s still fairly cloudy today (Thursday), Friday should bring some more sunshine and a little more heat, hitting a real feel of 23 degrees. Easter Sunday will be even warmer, with a balmy real feel of 25°C! The nights will remain cool though, dipping to 11°C on Friday, so wrap up warm.

If you’re planning any outdoor time over the long weekend, make sure to stay hydrated and slap on that sunblock, because the UV index in Malta has already hit 8 – classified as ‘Very High’ on the index scale, meaning that there’s very high risk of harm from unprotected sun exposure.

Sadly, the pleasant weather won’t last too long. Monday is expected to bring with it the chance of blood rain that leaves layers of dust over everything it touches, along with strong winds reaching force 7 as the day progresses – plan ahead if you think you’ll be travelling by ferry on the day!

Will you be outdoors enjoying the weather this weekend?
