He wore what?! Talking fashion with daring menswear influencer Christian Pisani
Fierce!

Christian Pisani is a 27 year-old Style Director at Toni & Guy’s prestigious Covent Garden salon in London. He has participated in both Malta and London Fashion Week as a hair stylist creating looks for the runway, but when he’s off duty, he is getting noticed in the fashion scene for his fierce and flamboyant looks. We caught up with Christian for a chat about his personal style and menswear trends, and it’s fair to say he’s our new favourite It-boy!

Hi Christian! Tell us, when did you move to London and why?

"I choose to move to London because I went to study there at the age of 18 and it changed my life, vision and perspective. Being in a city that is so densely populated with different cultures and mentalities is the best lesson and it makes you grow up and really appreciate diversity- for that, London is definitely the place to be!"

How do you plan your eye-catching outfits?

"My style is very androgynous and eclectic…I’m not the type of person to buy a full look; I tend to just pick random pieces that catch my eye as separates. I always focus on one main thing which I really want to wear, depending on my mood, and build up the rest of the outfit from there. This could be a statement coat to a simple bumbag or boots. My main tip is to follow a lot of people with different styles on social media, mainly Instagram, to get some inspiration, before customising the look according to my own style. My looks for Fashion Week have to be a playful statement - it should be fun after all, just like kids playing dress up!"

What are your favourite wardrobe pieces and accessories at the moment?

"This is a tricky one! But I think a Dior leather saddle bag is one of the key items to have this year. Personally, I love a good bumbag because you can wear it in various ways to spice up a simple outfit. Another thing I'm obsessed with this season is animal print, be it zebra or the classic leopard print, but my favourite has to be snake print! I'm a fan of leather and mesh, and shoe-wise I love a good pair of boots, from Dr Martins to Cuban heel and cowboy boots. The most fashionable thing with the biggest purpose, for me, are my specs, which I collect throughout the seasons in all shapes and tints!"

What is it that you love about Malta Fashion Week?

"I like Malta Fashion Week because it's one of the main yearly platforms to showcase both and local and foreign designers. It gives creative people throughout the fashion industry -including hairdressers and makeup artists - the opportunity to work in such an exciting environment, motivating them to work harder throughout the year to achieve what they wish for. Personally, I've been taking part in Fashion Week for the past 10 years, and nowadays it's that one yearly event to catch up with old friends, meet new ones and celebrate fashion all together."

Thank you Christian! We can't wait to see your next looks!
