The actor was in Malta just last November to shoot ‘Prizefighter’.
Hollywood A-lister Russell Crowe can’t seem to get enough of our islands!
The Oscar-winning actor took to Twitter to post a somewhat cryptic tweet, inadvertently revealing that he’s once again in Malta.
Crowe posted an image of Birgu’s iconic Fort St Angelo for all of his 2.7 million followers to see, together with the caption ‘Where am I now?’.
Just last November, the ‘Gladiator’ star was in Malta filming ‘Prizefighter’ – a film set in the 19th century revolving around a pugilist who fought his way to becoming the English champion.
A couple of days into his previous trip to Malta, Crowe took to Twitter to shower Valletta restaurant ‘Capo Crudo’ with praise.
“Last night I went to [Capo Crudo] in Valletta. Michelin. When you taste the food you know why,” he wrote.
It seems like he was particularly struck by the spot’s seafood, as he praised the “mussels”, “clams”, and “calamari”, served in “a delicate, subtle Thai style sauce.”
That was far from Crowe’s first time on the Maltese islands.
Around 20 years ago, the A-lister spent some time around the islands shooting ‘Gladiator’. One of the islands’ many historical gems, Fort Rinella, was even used as part of the film’s set.
