Hate the sand? Here are eight of Malta and Gozo’s BEST rocky beaches
Rocky beaches are just as fun!

With temperatures rising every single day, it’s high time we took a break from the heat and enjoyed a nice day by the sea.

As nice as a beach day might be, there are plenty of people who can’t stand the thought of sand getting all up in their bags, cars, and houses – and who can blame them?

For that very reason, here are eight rocky beaches around Malta and Gozo that will satisfy your sea cravings whilst keeping sand at bay.

Ghar Lapsi

Few areas in the Maltese landscape quite measure up to site right below the Dingli cliffs. Ghar Lapsi is the perfect area to have a peaceful swim and cool off.

Wied iz-Zurrieq

A stone’s throw away from Ghar Lapsi is Wiedi z-Zurrieq. The cliffside surrounding the area makes it the perfect place for those that enjoy an adventurous dive into crystal-clear seas.

Saint Peter's Pool

Speaking of diving, Saint Peter’s Pool in Marsaxlokk is a must-visit for any thrill-seeker out there.

Qui Si Sana

The long rocky beach at Qui Si Sana starts from Sliema and ends in Saint Julian, making it the ideal spot for those looking to swim and suntan in equal measures. This bay is also mostly flat, making it super easy to lay down a towel and bask in the sun.

Ta' Fra Ben

Right behind Qawra’s coastal watchtower you can find this rocky beach, perfect for an evening swim and a beachside BBQ.

Dahlet il-Fekruna

This beach in Saint Paul’s Bay is a bit more secluded, making it perfectly suited for bathers wanting to avoid big crowds.

Wied il-Ghasri

The sister island of Gozo has its fair share of beaches, including the ever-so-stunning Wied il-Ghasri. Upon arriving at this spot, you’ll understand why people can’t seem to stop posting about it on social media.

Xlendi

Decades ago, Xlendi used to be a sandy beach, but this has since disappeared, with local now choosing to swim on the other side of the striking valley.  With plenty of ladders and platforms to jump from, this is a great way to opt out of the sandy Gozitan beaches.
