For Caroline, Christmas is...

... much like other typical Christmas traditions in Maltese families. The festive season is all about spending time with loved ones while eating obscene amounts of food, she says. For Caroline, “Christmas is a time for lots of food, family fun, cheer and some silliness.” There’s so much to look forward to when you’re happy to spend time with family, and this married woman of fashion makes sure there’s a spot of balance in her relationship.

And this year, she'll be prioritising family

“Both Christmas Day and Christmas Eve are family days, my husband and I try to meet both sides of the family on the eve but we take turns with either side each year on the big day.” Married couples and those in serious relationships probably understand how serious this actually is; fighting about who’s family should be visited on Christmas Day can become quite the ordeal if it’s not clearly indicated beforehand!

Caroline's Christmas traditions

Traditions for Caroline include the standard Christmas Eve gatherings and the big Christmas Day lunches, but friends can expect a Secret Santa exchange every year, where no one is forgotten and everyone gets something they really want. For Caroline it’s more about the giving than the receiving: “I love it when I get to give my family their gifts, I put a lot of effort into choosing them, so I love seeing their expressions.”

Caroline's best Christmas present so far was...

“A couple of years ago my husband bought me a really good portable camera. I’ve used it almost everyday since then.” Capturing the happy moments in life is a great way to keep memories alive; so what better gift than a memory capturer from the one you love?

How about New Years Resolutions? Will she be making any?

2019 will bring about some changes in Caroline’s day-to-day plans, “I think the one thing I really want to make an effort on is to seize the day more and be less cautious about new things and experiences.” Grabbing the bull by the horns and giving life a run for its money sounds like a good idea, and it all starts on 31st December.

Like most of us, Caroline will be meeting up with close friends on New Years Eve, where the year can be broken in complete style - something exciting must be planned for both the big night and 2019, but she’s not sharing!
