It’s going to be BIG.
It's great news for sports enthusiasts! A huge multi-purpose sports village and sports hotel is being proposed on a vast 207,000 metre plot, currently occupied by the former Flower Power nursery on the outskirts of Ta’ Qali, which has been abandoned for years.
The brains behind the operation is Earlsbury Consulting Limited, owned by British national Andrew Howard. The application proposes various sports facilities including a full-size rugby pitch, two full-size football pitches, a sprint track, five tennis courts, four paddle tennis courts, and an indoor sports complex.

The proposal also includes various clubs, a rehabilitation clinic, a sports hotel, a garden centre, a commercial area, and surface and underground parking. Sounds like a dream, doesn’t it?
The idea is still in the works for now, so sports junkies will have to wait and see whether their dream sports centre will pass the test.
