Wine lovers, this is your time to shine!

The much-anticipated grape harvest season for wine production has officially begun, marking one of the most important moments in Malta’s agricultural calendar.

As is tradition, the harvest starts with early varieties such as Chardonnay and Moscato, before continuing with the later-ripening grapes that will eventually be transformed into the diverse range of Maltese and Gozitan wines.

Each year’s harvest reflects the dedication and expertise of local farmers, whose work ensures that Maltese wines remain distinctive and highly regarded. Despite varying conditions from season to season, the end result consistently stands out for its quality and character.

The grape harvest is more than just the start of winemaking; it is a celebration of the island’s rural heritage and a tribute to the traditions that have shaped the Maltese landscape for centuries. Farmers, growers, and producers work tirelessly to bring out the very best of the land, creating wines that embody the culture and identity of Malta and Gozo.

Local wines have also become a much-loved feature for visitors, offering a taste of the islands’ unique terroir and craftsmanship.

As the 2025 harvest season unfolds, appreciation goes to the farmers and winemakers whose hard work ensures that every bottle of Maltese and Gozitan wine tells a story of passion, resilience, and pride in local produce.
