Friday 7th May: A 95-year-old passes away while Malta registers 12 new cases

The Health Authority’s Facebook page, Sahha, has published today's figures. Malta has registered 12 new cases of COVID-19 after 1,956 swabs were done in the past 24 hours. 

The islands have registered 19 more recoveries, bringing the total recovery tally to 29,763 and the number of active cases to 252. Since the outbreak, Malta has recorded 30,432 cases and has performed 879,997 swab tests. Unfortunately, a 95-year-old female passed away at Mater Dei, bringing the death toll to 417.

The post also noted that until yesterday, 6th May, 365,902 vaccine doses have been administered to various people on the islands. 251,787 of these were a first dose while 115,333 people are now fully vaccinated.
