Friday 7th August: Malta registers 49 new cases & 5 recoveries of COVID-19

According to the figures published by the Health Authority’s Facebook page, Sahha, Malta has registered 49 new cases of COVID-19 after 1,717 swabs were done in the past 24 hours. This is the second-highest number of cases after the 52 cases reported on 7th April.

The post also noted that, “details of today's cases will be given by SPH Prof. Charmaine Gauci during a press brieging at 1300hrs, which will be streamed on sahha.”

The islands have registerd five more recoveries, bringing the total recovery tally to 675 and the number of active cases to 311. Since the outbreak, Malta has recorded 995 cases and has performed 138,430 swab tests.
