Today, 12 years ago, Gunner Matthew Psaila lost his life after finding difficulty during training with the Armed Forces at Chadwick Lakes. He passed away three days after the incident.

Jean Pierre Coleiro, a friend and colleague of Matthew’s, shared a tribute post this morning, 12 years after his passing. “You were by buddy and my friend, and for the last 12 years you were my buddy and friend from up there, where there is no pain,” he shared on socials, captioning a photo of them in their uniform.

“You left us [at] a very young age but you will remain in our hearts forever. Till we meet again,” Jean Pierre concluded.

Rest in peace, Matthew.
