Businesses across Malta were forced to temporarily shut their doors as Storm Harry sweeps through the islands.

As Storm Harry continues to lash the Maltese Islands with dangerous weather conditions, popular takeout food spot Panina has stepped up with a thoughtful gesture aimed at those who simply can’t stay home.

In a social media post shared amid the storm, Panina urged the public to remain indoors and follow official guidance, while taking a moment to recognise the dedication of essential workers who are still out on the roads keeping the country running.

The team expressed their gratitude to Civil Protection Malta officers, the Malta Police Force, LESA, Transport Malta, and all other essential service workers supporting the community during these challenging conditions.

As a small token of appreciation, Panina announced that any essential workers on duty near their outlets in Fgura, St Venera, Gżira, Naxxar or Żebbuġ are welcome to enjoy a free coffee and croissant, on the house.

As Storm Harry continued to sweep across the islands, a number of businesses around Malta were forced to temporarily close their doors due to growing safety concerns and visible damage.

As reported by WhosWho.mt, a number of businesses around Malta were forced to temporarily close their doors between yesterday and today. Klay Restaurant in St Julian’s was among the first to announce its closure, sharing an update on Instagram as severe weather conditions took hold of the area.

Several other food outlets soon followed, including Big Boy Pizzeria & Take Away and Sphinx Pastizzeria Żejtun, both confirming that they would remain closed for the duration of the storm.

The true force of the weather was made clear when Alma Restaurant sustained direct damage after strong winds tore down part of its façade — a stark reminder of the intensity with which Storm Harry has been battering both coastal and urban areas across Malta.

To everyone braving the storm for work: thank you and take care.

Stay safe!
