Feels like 38°C! Malta’s summer heat returns this week after a brief stormy break
Hot days, balmy nights, and a breezy weekend lie ahead.

After last Saturday’s refreshing midsummer thunderstorms, the heat is back on, and Malta’s trademark August humidity is expected to make a comeback.

Daytime temperatures aren’t expected to exceed 34°C, but with sticky humidity in the mix, the air will feel more like a scorching 38°C. The hottest day to look out for is Friday, when the real feel temperature will peak, although some clouds and a welcome northwesterly breeze should offer occasional relief after that.

In fact, the weekend looks slightly kinder, with real feel temperatures dipping to 35°C on Saturday and 34°C on Sunday, the latter also expected to bring partly cloudy skies.

Weekday evenings won’t offer much escape either – Thursday night will feel as warm as 26°C, before the weekend breezes bring nighttime temperatures down to a more bearable 23°C.

One thing that won’t budge, though, is the UV index, which remains at a high level of 9. So whether skies are sunny or cloudy, make sure to keep that sunscreen close, drink plenty of water, and take shade breaks where you can.

Are you happy to have summer back or hoping for more storms?
