Feeling the heat? Last month was the HOTTEST Maltese June in 100 years
The highest temperature recorded last month was 39°C.

We're just 14 days into summer, and the islands have already experienced two scorching heatwaves…

With that in mind, it comes as absolutely no surprise that last month was a meteorological record-breaker.

Having just gotten past the second heat wave of the season, data is now showing that last month was Malta’s hottest and driest June in an entire century.

Facebook page It-Temp Madwarna noted that not a single drop of rain was recorded anywhere on the Maltese islands throughout June 2022.

The page went on to describe how last month brought about average temperatures of 28.2°C. The maximum temperature recorded was 39°C - 4.2°C higher than the climatic average - whilst the lowest temperature recorded was 19°C.

The hottest June temperature ever recorded in Malta was 41.5°C - recorded last year.
