Expats kick off new initiative to help elderly & those less fortunate amid COVID-19 in Malta
A brilliant idea!

These expats in Malta are doing good for the entire nation in a great way. The new initiative, Invisible Hands is a platform to bring elderly (or in general the most affected members of the Maltese community by COVID-19) and young volunteers (mostly ex-pats) together.

In just a week, they’ve already managed to recruit 160 fellow volunteers all across Malta & Gozo and have started accepting the first help requests. How do they help? Simple. They deliver (for free) food and essential supplies to the ones more in need like elderly people, immunocompromised and people in quarantine.

“We call ourselves invisible because, unfortunately, given what is known about COVID-19, we want to minimize as much direct contact in our deliveries as possible.”

“We set up a Maltese / English hotline with the help of GO where they can leave their help requests with us,” one of the volunteers, Daniel tells us.  “Our 160 volunteers are currently distributing 2500 leaflets to pharmacies, supermarkets and convenience shops,” to help spread the word.
