Gozo is hotter than ever – and we don’t just mean the weather! The sister island continues to charm locals and tourists alike, with the latest sea transport figures showing a strong rise in popularity this past spring.

Between April and June 2025, over 1.9 million passengers made the trip to Gozo by sea – marking another successful quarter for island hopping. Unsurprisingly, June saw the biggest surge, with nearly 4,000 trips made that month alone.

The main route between Mġarr and Ċirkewwa remains the most popular, carrying over 1.5 million passengers during the second quarter of the year. And it wasn’t just foot passengers – over 548,000 vehicles also made the journey, allowing passengers to explore every corner of the island with their own transport.

Weekend traffic remains particularly busy, with Saturdays and Sundays seeing the highest number of travellers – generally including both tourists and locals hoping for a quick weekend escape.

As Gozo’s popularity keeps climbing, it’s clear the island isn’t just a summer haven anymore – it’s a year-round favourite!

Did you enjoy Gozo’s spring charm this year?
