COVID-19: 203 patients are currently receiving care in Maltese hospitals

In today's press conference, Superintendent of Public Health Prof. Charmaine Gauci shared some details on the situation of COVID-19 and Malta's hospitals.

Currently, there are 203 positive patients receiving care in hospitals around the island: 13 at Mater Dei's ITU, 13 in Mater Dei's Infectious Diseases Unit, 42 in other wards at Mater Dei, 20 at Boffa Hospital, 22 at St Thomas Hospital, 77 at the Good Samaritan Home, one at Mount Carmel Hospital, two in Gozo General's ITU, and 13 in other wards at Gozo General.

Prof. Gauci also noted that four patients receiving care at Mater Dei's ITU were aged between 60 and 69 while another nine patients were between 70 and 79 years of age.
